Lion

Lion (OS X 10.7) is due to be released by Apple tomorrow, and we’re ready. Mostly. Although we’ve just released a compatibility release for On The Job for those that bought directly from us (just check for updates from within the app), those that bought through the App Store will have to wait until Apple approves the update. With any luck, it will not be long.

For anyone in that situation who relies on On The Job, it’s probably worth waiting a few of days to upgrade your OS.

As for our other apps, we don’t believe there are any show-stopper issues that should prevent you from upgrading. If you do notice any problems, be sure to let us know!

Mac App Store

Just a quick note to let everybody know that On The Job is now officially available for purchase via the Mac App Store! (You will have to update to OS X 10.6.6 for that link to work)

The Mac App Store offers a great way to easily purchase and install apps in one easy step. We’re really excited to be a part of it, and hope to have more of our applications in the store soon.

Of course On The Job is still available for purchase through our online store, and we have no plans to change that. Choice is good!

Freeform – The iPad Vector Drawing App

Freeform, our newest application is now available on the app store! Freeform is an iPad vector drawing application. It’s a bit of an experiment that we hope will grow into a full fledged and truly useful piece of software for designers in the future.

Freeform is available for the low low price of just $4.99 for a limited time – grab your copy at the app store today!

Behind the Scenes

Although Stunt Software is very much a virtual company with no real physical location, for the humans involved it is necessary to actually live and work and pay taxes somewhere. That somewhere is Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Last night at IMAX a local organization, New Media Manitoba, screened a showcase of a some interviews featuring Manitoba-based new media companies.

I was lucky enough to be featured in one of these interviews. Click through to see the video.

Shiny New Website

Our website has a new look! There were a bunch of reasons for the redesign, but unification was a big one. We previously had at least 4 different styles on the site. One for the “classic” pages that had not been updated in a while. A different style for the 4 in a Row page. A different “new” style for On The Job and our contact page. And finally another style, not to mention url, for the blog. Now we’re finally back to one unified style, and the blog has been integrated into the main site, where it probably always should have been.

We’ve also got a new online store, and new support forums. Keep reading for more details.

Snow Leopard Compatibility

Today we released two new updates to address Snow Leopard compatibility issues in On The Job and Overflow. We found no compatibility problems with Downsize, so that application has not received an update.

Additionally, the On The Job 3 update contains a handful of bug fixes, and some new features. Most importantly, new Export options have been gained allowing data stored in On The Job to be exported as plain text, or in CSV or XML format.
